Youth for Survival trains unemployed youth with skills that can help them to become employable at the Brazzaville Skills Training Center.
The training we facilitate with includes: life skills, computer literacy, cashier, baking, culinary, entrepreneurial skills, tailoring, making wonder bags, agriculture and security guard certification and more
In addition we have the Legae “Know Your Rights” training that focuses on Gender Based Violence and Child abuse, as well as women and children rights, marriage advice, divorce and rights of children born in or out of wedlock.
The scope of the other training courses and seminars we host includes communications, leadership development, stress and conflict management, customer services, sales, as well as personal and professional development.
Our training focuses on industries with high labor demands, that the students can easily and without a delay, obtain and sustain an employment position in the sector they received training in.
We have proven success with immediate job placements of most of our students.
The Tshwane One Stop Safe House for Abused Women and Children is Youth for Survival’s transit shelter for abused women and children. Services offered at the shelter range from counseling, skills development training and legal services. Each woman that comes into the program receives counselling from the Social Worker, followed by an assessment of areas in which they can be placed within our Skills Development Training with an end goal for work placement or learner-ships. Weekly Indaba's are also carried out in the areas we operate to find more women in abusive relationships who can also be absorbed into the program.
